Why Choose an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon?
Oral and maxillofacial surgeons complete additional years of hospital-based surgical and anesthesia training after dental school. This specialized training allows us to manage a wide variety of conditions affecting the mouth, teeth, and facial regions.
At Timberline, we provide the full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including:
- Dental implant surgery
- Wisdom tooth removal
- Corrective jaw surgery
- Bone reconstruction with minimally invasive techniques
- Treatment of facial pain, injuries, and fractures
Our team is trained to provide IV sedation and outpatient general anesthesia in our state-of-the-art surgical facility. Patients are continuously monitored throughout and after surgery, ensuring both safety and comfort at every step.
Your First Visit
Your initial appointment will consist of a consultation where we’ll explain your diagnosis and review treatment options. In some cases, surgery can be performed the same day. However, if you have a more detailed medical history or a treatment plan that requires additional planning, we may schedule a second appointment for your procedure.
At your consultation, please bring the following:
- Your referral slip and any recent X-rays (if applicable)
- A list of current medications
- Medical and dental insurance information (if available)
Important notes:
- Patients under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- If IV anesthesia is planned, a pre-operative consultation and physical exam are required. Please do not eat or drink anything for eight hours prior to your appointment, and bring a responsible adult who can stay in the office during your procedure and drive you home.
- Please notify us of any medical conditions (such as diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial joints or heart valves, etc.) or medications you are taking that may affect your care.
- If your dentist or physician has taken X-rays, please have them forwarded to us, or bring them with you. If needed, we can take additional images in our office.
